About the AI Matter

General / 16 December 2022

This whole AI stuff is something so controversial that made me think a lot about it and I wanted to share my thoughts here.

Considering the matter from different perspectives, if it would've stayed just a tool as many of us thought in the beginning of the MidCursedJourney, it would've been absolutely no problem for any of us. Yes, I do not agree in making the job faster and faster crushing people with pressure and deadlines, but I could still understand that point of view, another possible path would've been in making it something completely new, a technique, a medium absolutely indipendent from other artists' work, a new form of Art, and it would've been an amazing choice, but now it's just a way to get to a final result as fast as possible without even thinking about the process. and it is already 'stealing jobs' from people who have studied their entire life to achieve some important results and job positions.

And I've also observed and personally think that all those apps that let people see themselves in different historical periods or universes are made just to 'perfect' the AI in making believable faces and human resemblance instead of creating those 'horrific abominations', as I like to call them.

So, we can't stop the madding process I fear, but we can ask to people to be reasonable and continue to ask to artists to make Art while we can only answer with studying and working on our skills, expanding them and reminding people that making art and drawing... is not that simple.

I'll stop here with my flow of thoughts and I'm sorry for the awful English!

Mortal Kombat Fanarts

General / 16 September 2022

This is my latest group of Fanart and study!

Sometimes I'm a big Nerd and I use my old-fashioned passions as a tool for practice. In this case, Mortal Kombat was the subject.

I usually do not paint characters so powerful and energetic or with this massive bodies, but I feel the need to do something different sometimes that will eventually help me in my classic artworks. I had fun for sure in the meanwhile, but now...

Who is your favourite Fighter??

Portrait Studies

General / 11 February 2022

Hi Guys,
hope you're all good.
I seldome write Blog posts, but I wanted to make space for some studies I did during the past few weeks.
They are focused on portraits and style, because I wanted to study more closely head's volumes and trying to convey it with my usual painting style.

Pencil Sketches

General / 22 June 2021

Drawing with pencil is always important, because it gives a total different feedback and I feel like it keeps the hand steady and precise.

I've made some quick sketches a couple of days ago about Orcs and Goblins and I've decided to try and give them a nice look in digital, nothing serious, but it's a way to show how I personally work with pencils too.

Sketching in Black and White

General / 28 January 2021

Practicing with simple values leaves space to the work on details and a more emotional and strong impact.

We have just the grayscale as a tool and we need and can create a powerful illustration out of it, even if it's 'just a sketch' it could be strong enough. Also we have the possibilities to study and see values in a clearer way, to use shadows and light to convey very different feelings and moods to the subject itself and we don't have to deal with colours so we can proceed without further difficulties.

Personally, I like to use B/W and leave it as it is for the final artwork, it's useful and relaxing.

It's my first blog post here, don't know if it fits the 'standard', but I wanted to try!

Thanks for reading.
